Simply select one of the video icons to view a short video of the Cross Hatch Tool in action:

Clicking on the icon will bring up a message giving you the option to Save or Open the file. Depending on your internet service, sometimes it easier to download the file. If you have any problems or questions about the video shorts, please email me and I get back to promptly.

The videos show cross hatching at 45’ around 3 dimensional applique’ and some straight cross hatching at 45’ showing the ease in which the Guide can be moved.

The videos are in two file sizes to accommodate different download capabilities.

The video file are in Windows movie format (.wmv)

When watching the videos, note how easy it to change direction and by sewing in the ditch our demonstrator did not cut the thread until she got all the way accross the top of the quilt.
The Guide used in the video was our prototype and the lines were coloured to enable them to be seen on video.
The Guides available now, have very accurate laser cut lines that will not wear off and are only as thick as a hair, making it very easy to align with previous stitching.

Cross Hatching at 45

Cross Hatching at 45 Left to Right and then switching to Right to Left

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Cross Hatching around an applique’

quilt

The Guide is attached to the Quilt Fence (the black right angled piece). The angle and direction is your choice.
To assemble the Guide to the Fence, simply place the head of the ruler (the end with the tapped holes), to the side of the Fence that will give you a left to right angle or a right to left angle. Put the fixing screw into the top hole first (the hole closest to the upright part of the fence), and turn the screw down to hold the Guide. Now place the second fixing screw in to the hole that is going to give you the angle you are seeking. Tighten the screws, firm is ample.

When assembled, you simply place the Guide against the Quilt roll at the top of the Table, align the hopping foot against the Guide and start Cross Hatching.

The diagrams show the two most common table setups and it is important to know the size of the bed if you are going to run lines at 90’. This is not so common with the Straight Guide but more so with the Curved Accessories.
